Curriculum

We view the curriculum area, concepts and skill as our means to understanding and enjoying our lives and the world we live in. Many of the following areas will be worked into the classroom centers as activities and games. The children will learn through play and exploration of many subjects and topics. Here at Blessed Kids Learning Center we want to take advantage of all types of learning tools to help our students reach their preschool potential. With multiple curriculum tools like Abeka and other resources we believe that our students will be ready to thrive in kindergarten.

The two and three year old classes will take part in fun, daily oral exploration of letters, numbers, shapes, and colors. The pre-K classes will experience a more hands-on exploration of the alphabet, numbers, shapes, and colors. To include but not limited to writing their letters, numbers, and names. Classrooms will be print rich and include many learning opportunities.

  • Our preschool curriculum foundation is Abeka Curriculum. Abeka provides our students the chance to learn the alphabets in groups that will provide the letter sounds and writing strokes with scripture. It also provides a unique alphabet song that provides words that go along with the alphabet song. We also have supplemental workbooks and activities that provide skills for all types of learners that we use for our students. Other learning subjects like art, science and social studies are integrated with the Abeka Curriculum.

  • We teach counting and number recognition, as well as number writing strokes. We have daily number worksheets and counting activities so that our students will retain the daily information that was taught.

  • Blessed Kids Learning Center believes that our students need to be physically active during the day. It not only helps the body be physically healthy, but it helps their mind to be ready to learn. In addition to physical /sensorial development integrated in the curriculum, some of the gross motor activities we will do for P.E. are:

    -Basketball

    -Soccer

    -Jumping

    -Running

    -Dancing

    -Balancing

  • It's important for us to start our day with joyful praise and worship to our God.  This provides our students with a joy and excitement of who our God is. During this time they will learn songs and dance moves that go with the songs. Students will be participating in physical activity but also spiritual encounters as they learn how much Jesus loves them.

Daily we will read a short story from the Bible and discuss the Biblical event with the students. Most importantly how we can be a better person using this story in school and when we go home.

  • Throughout our school year we will have three big events that will showcase our students’ learning. During this time they will learn how to speak with expression and perform in front of an audience. We believe that teaching our students to speak in front of an audience at a young age will provide an opportunity for students to grow and learn to be effective communicators. They will be taught to overcome their fears and perform in front of a crowd during our Christmas program, Easter program and Graduation/Promotion Program.
